About five months ago I filmed Lawrence Lessig for Stanford Video, for a conference in Japan. At the end of it of it I was like - Dude that was great, my wife just found music for her film through creative commons, that really works, etc. – I was so ignorant, it took me a while to realize that he was such an icon, and that his ideas were so revolutionary by bringing people down to the ground and separating art from business, the whole pass it on thing…artistic freedom.
Yeah, take my stuff and run with it.

That’s what Mr. Lessig wants you to do!

Well,
Katherine and I went east for the summer.
We left California at the end of June and got back in the middle of September.
We had two wonderful months in New York where we stayed in the alphabet city thanks to Tim who kindly let Kath and I take over his awesome apartment. Thanks TIM!
As a short summary I would like to mention that we drove through 22 states from Cali to Oregon, east to New York, south to South Carolina and north to Rhode Island and back to California.
We slept in 24 beds and I had 1173 beers and our car “Madison” had three oil changes. She really likes 10W30 but some people suggested we give her some 5W30. We set camp in Wisconsin where we started to play tennis – now that IS a great sport.
I have taken way too many photos that I will share with you at a random order.
This one is from Nederland Colorado, where we stayed at the Sundance Lodge and Café.
The picture was taken before dinner and before we found out that we were the only tenants for the night and that the entire personnel was going home for the night but come back in the morning in time to cook breakfast and make a fresh pot of coffee. They forgot to tell us that there was digital cable and the 800 TV channels might be distracting from our trying to hear if suspicious cars were going to stop and wanna hang out.
